These Gift Cards Donate to GGP!

For many of us, the holiday season is a time of both gift giving and acts of kindness. GGP’s upcoming fundraiser with FundScrip can help you do both at the same time!

FundScrip is an innovative program that lets you earn cash rebates for Global Gathering Place based on things you buy everyday like groceries, gas, clothing, and household items from places like:

  • Superstore, Extra Foods, Sobeys, Safeway
  • Esso, Mobil, Petro-Canada, Shell
  • Starbucks, Tim Hortons, Cactus Club, Canadian Brewhouse
  • Winners, Aldo, H&M, Gap, Mark’s, Sport Chek
  • Home Depot, RONA, Canadian Tire
  • Apple, Indigo, Landmark Cinemas, Sephora
  • New this year are WestJet and Airbnb
  • More!

All you must do is pay for your purchases using GIFT CARDS bought at face value and a percentage of every gift card will be given back to Global Gathering Place. It costs you nothing extra!

If you would like to support GGP through this fundraiser, here is the order form with all the vendors listed and the percentage Global Gathering Place will earn for each card sold. Paper order forms can also be picked up at GGP’s Main Office front desk. Please get your order in before December 5th! The gift cards will be available for pick-up from GGP the following week. Purchases can be made by cash, cheque made out to Global Gathering Place, or by e-transfer to finances@globalgatheringplace.com.

From the very first day as a volunteer, Imbisat felt welcomed and appreciated by teachers, staff, and students. Because her volunteering schedule was able to be catered to her personal schedule and comfort level, she was motivated to make the most of her time helping students improve their English skills and offering general guidance on life in Canada. What she enjoys most about volunteering at GGP is the meaningful connections she builds. “These connections go beyond the classroom—when I see anyone in public, I interact with them as naturally and warmly as I do in class.”

Client Breaks Out of Shell at GGP

Rose immigrated to Saskatoon from Vietnam in 2023. She describes her life in her home country as very different from her life in Canada. “I had family and friends there, and I was used to my culture and language. When I came to Canada, everything was new—the weather, the language, and the way of life. It was not easy at first, but I came here for a better future for my family and myself.”
