We operate on Treaty 6 territory and the homeland of the Métis. Many of the clients we serve are religious, racial, and ethnic minorities who were displaced by the colonial invasion of their homeland. While we offer them refuge, we must also consider the forced displacement of First Nations and Métis peoples that allowed colonial governments to settle this land. Furthermore, we must address the unresolved inequality and trauma that continues to harm Indigenous communities across the country. Global Gathering Place is committed to strengthening the ties between our communities and fulfilling our treaty relationship.
