Language Training

Global Gathering Place invites students to join its free English Classes in Saskatoon and across Saskatchewan.

Free childcare is available for most classes. Language and disability services are also available if needed.

We offer the following classes in various schedules, locations, and modalities (in person, online, and blended):

Language Instruction for Newcomers to Canada (LINC) Classes, from Literacy Levels and CLB 1 to CLB 4, for adult Refugees and Permanent Residents

Stage 1 and 2 English Classes, from CLB 1 to CLB 7, for adult Temporary Residents and Canadian Citizens based in Saskatoon

Online Stage 1 and 2 English Classes, from CLB 1 to CLB 7, for adult Temporary Residents and Canadian Citizens across the province

Online E4E for Youth Classes for adults 18-29 years of age from CLB 4 to CLB 8, for Permanent Residents, Temporary Residents and Canadian Citizens across Saskatchewan

If you are interested in improving your English skills, call us at 306-665-2950 or stop by our English Language Centre downtown at 315 25th Street East, Saskatoon for more information. 

To join our classes, you need to:

  1. Get your Canadian Language Benchmarks (CLB) Level: Arrange for an English placement test or a re-referral by calling the LARC or PLARS at 306-651-5272. Permanent Residents will take the test or get a re-referral through the Language Assessment and Referral Centre (LARC) and Temporary Residents and Canadian Citizens though the Provincial Language Assessments and Referral Services (PLARS). 
  2. Register at our English Language Centre (ELC): Bring with you your assessment and referral papers from the LARC or PLARS and your immigration documents to the ELC at 315 25th Street East for registration.
  3. Register your child if you need free childcare while in class: Bring your child’s birth certificate, passport, and landing papers as well as health records when you register yourself for class at the ELC.

All our classes are led by qualified instructors and adhere to national standards for English language instruction. Needs-based and outcomes-driven, our language training provides students with functional English language skills for successful settlement and integration, including employment-readiness, in Saskatoon, Saskatchewan, and Canada.
