Global Gathering Place New Community Legacy Scholarship
Proudly Continuing the Legacy of New Community Credit Union with the Support of Synergy Credit Union
Each June, Global Gathering Place (GGP) will award a total of $5,000 in scholarships to help refugees and immigrants access post-secondary education, training courses, and certificate programs. GGP is honoured that New Community Credit Union’s legacy of fostering a welcoming and inclusive environment for newcomers to Canada will continue with this scholarship.
Application Criteria:
- The applicant must confirm their application to a post-secondary program, training course, or certificate program in Canada
- The applicant must demonstrate financial need
- The applicant must be a client of GGP who has been active at GGP within the past five years
- This scholarship must be used before March 31 of the following year
Application Process:
- Applications are open April 15 to May 15
- Applications include:
- A 500 word summary of your personal settlement journey
- A 150 word summary of your goals for future employment
Application forms must be completed by May 15, 2026. Recipients will be notified early June. The scholarship award ceremony will be at GGP’s AGM on June 24, 2026. Scholarship recipients are encouraged to attend the event.
Please note that this scholarship is not applicable for courses completed prior to June 1, 2026.
