In the role of Workforce and Wellness Specialist, you will be empowered to work one-on-one with racialized women to assess and mediate their individual challenges, and to build their confidence as you help them capitalize on their unique talents.
The Workforce and Wellness Specialist will:
-Accurately assess clients barriers and challenges in the labour market and immediate settlement and integration needs and refer them to appropriate programs and/or services within GGP and the wider community
-Develop and customize client intake and assessment tools based on the assessment of local labour market and client needs
-Assist in providing access to wrap around supports including childcare, transportation, mental health supports and living allowances including arranging appointments, interpretation services, and accompanying clients to appointments as needed
-Organizes educational sessions focused on women’s health The ideal candidate will have:
-A Bachelors degree in social work, psychology, commerce, or education is required as well as practical work in the area of counselling
-Experience in a similar role working with clients from varying populations (i.e., racialized populations, immigrant population)
-Strong understanding of settlement and integration barriers
-Knowledge of community resources, eligibility requirements for specific services, and referral procedures
